Cross-Forest Address Book Sync

I hope this is the right forum to post this question (first time asking a question on TechNet). I'm still learning Lync, so I ask for patience in case some of the terminology isn't 100% accurate.

Scenario:
*We have two external forests with 2-way transitive trust--Domain1.com and Domain2.com
*We have a FIM 2010 R2 server in Domain1.com running GALSync keeping our Exchange GALs in sync.
*Both domains have the same Lync environment--a single FE Lync 2010 server and a single Lync Edge server)

Issue:
Lync Address Book is not synchronizing between the two forests. IM/Presence works between forests, but you have to manually enter a full SIP address, as searching a user's display name fails to resolve (in our case "LastName, FirstName"). Example: If I send a message from Domain1.com to 'FirstName.LastName@Domain2.com', it will send and we can see both user's presence. Once we establish an IM session, I can then search for that user in the address book by 'LastName, FirstName'. But this is only after establishing an IM session between the two users. And another user from Domain1.com wouldn't be able to search 'LastName, FirstName' until an IM session is established with user from Domain2.com

I've read the following:
https://techontip.wordpress.com/2014/07/28/enable-external-galsync-contacts-for-lync-address-book/

msRTCSIP-PrimaryUserAddress is the currently empty in all the mail contacts FIM creates in each of the forests. Is the 'msRTCSIP-PrimaryUserAddress' field required for address book sync? Every user has a SIP address in the 'proxyAddress' attribute of their mail contact, but it's been over a week and address books still are not in sync on either side.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

-Geoff
