"+" gets appended to the numbers in address book.....
Hi All,
"+" gets appended to the numbers available in the Lync contact card only in the desk phone devices
(Polycom CX500, CX600) Though on the desktop clients it appears to be fine i.e. without + sign. I opened the GalContacts.db and fond it to be fine i.e. without + sign
Any hints why on the phone devices + sign gets appended ? How to fix it.
Environment info:
Lync 2013 with MAY 2015 cumulative update.
Lync Phone Devices with 4.0.7577.4487 i.e. Latest as of now.

Lync 2010 Update-CsUserDatabase cleared rtc database
Hello all,
I have been having trouble with changes in active directory not showing up in the Lync Address Book for a few months and finally got around to taking a look into it today.
I ran Update-CsAddressBook and it didn't change any entries.
I then Ran Update-CsUserDatabase and it wiped everything. There are now 0 entries in the Address Book.

I run the following command (to see if we do have users which are not processed by the Address Book service):

I was slightly surprised that output showed me huge amount of these errors:

At the end, it is very unclear why this is happening. Get-csuser return the users just correctly, also test-csaddressbookservice return user just normally.
There were also valid users, but those red once makes me worried. Any idea anybody?
How much I wish that CmdLet is supporting others than "-user" parameters also.

Sooner, i will upgrade Lync Server 2013 to SFB Server 2015, however, the Lync Server 2013 install on the Windows Server 2008 R2. Which is the best way to upgrade to SFB Server 2015.

Then I get the page message Loading.. only dashboard is not showing any information.

Failed address book file download requests per second - LS Address Book File Handler Component (SCOM)
Hi All,
For almost a week now in our System Center Operations Manager we are getting the alert and we cannot find the source or reason. following is the summery and recomendation from MS;
Summary
The per-second rate of failed Address Book file requests
Causes
High rate of failure can be caused by authentication issues or network connectivity issues
Resolutions
Check Lync Server event log for failure causes and correct
I am unable to find any issue in the event log (or at least dont know of event ID i should be looking for) below is the actual alert;
Can somoene guide me towards the right direction please?

search does not find distribution groups
I recently started a new job and I am to administering Lync 2010 for the first time. We have 2 registrar pools. Policy has my client set to WebsearchOnly for address book. Users connected to pool A are able to look search and fine Exchange
Distribution groups. For users connected to pool B searches only display users. Also when connected to pool B if I lookup a DL in Outlook 2010 and try and start a group IM that way the attempt to generate an IM to a group that way it fails. That
functionality works when connected to pool A. Looking for advice on what components \ settings I should be checking. The front end servers in the 2 pool appear to have all the same components and hot fixes installed.

Need your assistance on how to fix a notification error seen at the lower right of the Lync client "Cannot synchronize with the corporate address book because the file could not be found. Contact your support team with this information."
Should resetting IIS be enought? Please advise.

Hide voicemail accounts from Lync address book
Hi,
We have a few response groups with voicemail accounts attached, the response group and voicemail have similar names which leads to people ringing the voicemail directly rather than the group. Is there a way to hide the voicemail accounts from the Lync address book and leave them in the Exchange address book?
I've tried ABSConfig but can't see the attribute i add on the object in ADSIEdit.

Federated users can only be called or emailed
Hi,
I have several users (with external emails - Mail Users in Exchange, federated with my company) in AD with defined Telephone Number, so they appear in AddresssBook searches (WebSearch only, no local Contacts allowed). But then cannot be texted, phone icon is being displayed next to the name. When phone numbers are deleted presence status returns and they can be texted.
Any idea what can I do to keep phone numbers and have instant messaging turned on?

Contacts Sync issue after migration from Lync 2010 to SFB without Office 365
Hi,
Recently we have migrated from abc@aa.com to abc@on.aa.com (UPN- migration)
UPN migration happened for 6000+ users.
As a part of the migration we upgraded to Skype for business 2013 from Lync 2010
After the software upgrade and UPN migration we started losing the contacts whichever we had in lync2010.
so we have to export the contacts from lync before migration ( to Excel sheet)
after the SFB update we add them manually,each contacts.
so im wondering if there is any way to directly export the contacts to SFB from Lync.

Wrong Display Name on LYNC contact
Hi All,
We found one of the wired issue, where in LYNC client The display name of the User contact shows wrong, in some cases email address shows different.
Example --> If i search for the user ABCD in LYNC we found user But for this user display name shows as WXYZ instead of ABCD but other contact details including email address shows of the user ABCD.
For this issue we have solved by deleting Gal-contact files. But what would be the cause for this issue.

Pack. I have some users in Lync that are not included in the Address Book. On
the FrontEnd Server I get the following error:<o:p></o:p>
A Tenant ID attribute value was changed, deleted, or
added for an existing user in the database. Resolve the conflict by restoring
the original value or deleting the user from AD.<o:p></o:p>
The DN of the user whose Tenant ID value User
Replicator tried to replicate is:<o:p></o:p>
CN=Testuser ****,OU=OU1,OU=OCS
Tenants,DC=domain,DC=local<o:p></o:p>
This update came from domain:<o:p></o:p>
Domain.local<o:p></o:p>
Cause: Typically caused by manual modification of
msRTCSIP-TenantId attribute value instead of using management tools<o:p></o:p>
Resolution:<o:p></o:p>
Restore the original value of msRTCSIP-TenantId
attribute or delete the user from AD. You may use Dbanalyze to diagnose the
problem.<o:p></o:p>
I have created Tenant and Grouping ID with the
powershell as explained in the official document. Just tried to disable and
re-enable the user. Also disabled lync user, deleted the attributes in AD, set
the attributes with PowerShell, enabled user -> no success. Has anyone a
solution?

How to import contacts and groups from LYNC 2010 tpo 2013 without login ?
I was using LYNC 2010 since years and I had all my contacts and groups inside it. Now, suddenly I am unable to login inside 2010 and being forced to install 2013.
Can anyone let me know -
1. If there is a need to import all the contacts i.e. even if I install new LYNC 2013, my contacts will be there.
2. How to get all my contacts without logging into LYNC and get it exported?

Lync Conversation History Issue
Lync 2010 - Version 4.4.7557.4521
In my company we use Lync for in office communication all the time.
Somehow, my conversations are not saving to my Conversation History in Outlook.
My IT department has looked into the issue and ruled out most of the basic issues.
The problem is there no matter which computer I sign in to.
We killed my Lync account and rebuilt it, but the issue remains.
I have looked at the configuration of my Lync compared to another co-workers and they are identical except the profile info.
The co-workers history works just fine.
IT has looked at the servers and have rebuilt my Outlook profile as well as my entire profile here at work.
Nothing seems to change the fact that my conversation history will not save.
At this point, I am assuming it is a setting issue that has been over looked.
Anyone with insight would be very much appreciated.
I am not on Office 365, but do have access to my email on WebMail and the history isn't saved there either.
The options below forced me to choose Office 365 for Business.
