ABServer.exe error

When I issue a "Update-CsAddressBook -verbose"  command, within a few minutes, I see the following in Event Viewer.

Event ID 12330    LS Server

Failed starting a worker process.

Process: 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2010\Server\Core\ABServer.exe'  Exit Code: C3E8302D!_HRX! (The worker process failed to initialize itself in the maximum allowable time.!_HRM!).
Cause: This could happen due to low resource conditions or insufficient privileges.
Resolution:
Try restarting the server. If the problem persists contact Product Support Services.

 

 

Followed by Event ID 12331

Worker process exited prematurely.  The process will be automatically restarted.

Process: 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2010\Server\Core\ABServer.exe'  Exit Code: 0!_HRX! (The operation completed successfully.
!_HRM!).

 

 

Then successful Event ID 21001, 21069, 21072, and 21003.  

 

My address books are getting updated nightly.  Changes I make during the day are seen the following day, however, these errors seem very out of place.   Is it correct that Lync will update via overnight schedule, but I can't force the update?

Lync Photograph Error with Skydrive HTTPS

To whom it may concern.

Ever since Skydrive have changed the security to HTTPS Lync isnt reading the
photographs being stored on Skydrive of our users.

My question is reffering to the staff members profile / corporate photos previously were
stored on skydrive and worked with lync 2010 through the "show picture
from a web address" section of Lync.

How can I correct this error so staff members corporate photographs can once
again be seen on lync??  Currently all I am getting is a " The web address
requires a password, try using a web address that does not require a
password".

What can be done / how can I correct this issue so that lync can read the photos from Skydrive again?

How to recover single user's contact list after move pool with Force switch

  1. We have DPM Server which has full backup of LYNC database.
  2. After move one user's pool with "Force" checked, all his contacts and groups are lost.

Another address book issue - number display

Hello All,

      Running Lync 2010 with Nov CU installed and all users are RCC enabled.   We are not seeing phone numbers in Lync contacts list displayed in a standard format.  All numbers are entered into AD as (xxx) xxx-xxxx and our normalization rules normalize the work number to +xxxxx and all other numbers (Home and Mobile) to E.164 +1xxxxxxxxxx.  My understanding is that the numbers will be displayed in the format the numbers are normalized so work should appear as +xxxxx and all others as +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx.  

What I'm seeing is the work  appears as either +xxxxx or (xxx) xxx-xxxx. And all other numbers appears as +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx or (xxx) xxx-xxxx.  This number display are different from day to day.

Also when searching for a contact in Lync all numbers are always display in (xxx) xxx-xxxx formats but after they are added into Lync contacts list then the numbers display is never consistent.  Can anyone shed any light into this?   Thank you.

Lost the address book database

Hi,

We use Lync 2010 and with an action from our storage engineer we lost the Address Book database in SQL which was on a LUN.

Is there anyway to recreate this database?

Cannot expand the group, and display "Cannot perform this action, and the cause is unknown. Contact your support team to investigate this problem".

Hi everyone,

Recently, I noticed that I can't expand the group on the Lync client 2013 (We're using Lync Server 2010). I was able to display the group member, and was working fine, but suddenly got "Cannot perform this action, and the cause is unknown. Contact your support team to investigate this problem." no matter I connected from Office (Internal) or Home (External). Any idea?

ABSConfig.exe on Lync 2010

Hello,

We have Lync Server 2010. Yesterday we had ran the ABSconfig.exe as we wanted to update the address book. But because of that now when I search any user in the Lync Client, his status is not shown. The photo is also missing. I can see only telephone icon for that user. The users who are in the contact list are working fine. It happens only for the searched user.

I went through this link, but no luck.

Phone numbers are not updated until user sign in

Hi all,

User B looks User A's phone number and can see number +123456789 on the contact card, but also on the Outlook properties. User B can call to user by "call" drop down action and there is also same number available.

Administrator changed yesterday User A's number to +987654321.

Today, when User B looks User A's phone number and can see number +123456789 on the contact card. On the Outkook's properties user B can see number +987654321. And on Call's drop down action list user B can see numbers: +123456789 and +987654321.

And later today, when User A has been signed in and out the old number is vanished.

Does anybody have seen similar behavior? 

What is the sequence when is updated and what?

recently purchased a new Polycom CX600 Lync phone device for our company and
connected with Microsoft Lync 2010, our Lync is is connected with exchange
server and active directory user and it will bring all the contact address
through it, but when we connect clients Lync with the Polycom CX600 we can't
see any contact address when you are searching for it through the Polycom

Hi All,

I have two different domain servers in local, One is ex : domain.com and another one is domain.net, I have configured my ads in one server(domain.com), users are logging through this server. Now i have configured my lync server in domain.net, But users could not access this from domain.com. How can i link this both server. Please suggest me asap. It would be great help for us.

Add new OC field name to address book

Hello,

   I have users that work in multiple offices in different states.  I entered both work numbers into the AD telephone number attributes.  In lync the user's work numbers are displayed as "work" (xxx) xxx-xxxx and "other" (xxx) xxx-xxxx.  I would like the 2nd work number to be displayed as "work 2" rather than "other".  Is this possible?  Thank you.

How to stop users from being able to search for for users from another OU or Organization

Lync 2010 on-premise Enterprise.

We're trying to make sure that folks/contacts cannot be searched for from other departments/Organizations.

When I start to type "Chr" it lists all users who start with it, Chris, Christen, etc. If it meant only that you could add someone if you knew their entire SIP URI then I'd be ok with that.

Any ideas how this can be restricted by OU or globally?

Lync 2010 Address Book and AD Security Groups

Gents,

Here is the problem I got. We have plenty of security groups in AD used to apply different group policies. 

Some of them have email configured - don't ask me why. That was done a long time ago.

Now I discovered that these security groups' email address gets into Lync AB. It is obvious why Distribution Groups get there, but I don't really get why Security Groups are copied into AB.

Is there any way to disable syncing Security Groups into Lync AB? Otherwise I assume I will need to remove email addresses from all Security Groups.

Lync Address book Search failed

We have configured Lync 2010 Address book as web search only. The issue is for some users when they put 3 to 4 letters search is success. But when they put more letters it will fail. Giving error like Search failed. Like an Eg:

If i will search with charl ill display the result. But when you search withCharles it will fail even we do have users name with Charles.

Missing lsabs files in OCS 2007 Server

Hello There,

We are running OCS Server 2007 Enterprise edition in our organization. For last few weeks we are experiencing an issue of clients downloading full address book every day and choking network bandwidth. To diagnose it more, we looked into the shared folder where OCS generates the address book files. We observed that for past few weeks, OCS is skipping lsabs files. Below is teh latest details of sequence the server has generated.
